Red sage root, also referred to as dan shen, is typically taken alone or combined with other botanicals in herbal formulations. Dan shen is beneficial and supportive for circulation problems. It is also used for menstrual disorders, chronic liver disease, and trouble sleeping caused by complaints such as rapid heartbeat and tight chest.
