Description
*Uses:
Traditional Chinese Medicine has used wild yam for at least 2,000 years. Wild yam is most commonly used as a "natural alternative" to estrogen support for symptoms of menopause, infertility, menstrual problems, and other conditions. However, while wild yam does seem to have some estrogen-like activity, it is not actually converted into estrogen in the body. There is also a great deal of misinformation among consumers, practitioners, and natural product vendors alike about the connection between wild yam and progesterone. Wild yam contains no progesterone, natural or otherwise. However it may help boost natural progesterone production. It is also considered beneficial for nausea, especially morning sickness.
