This member of the Apiaceae family grows in damp soil, near running water, and along woodland edges. Angelica roots are aromatic and considered to have spicy, bitter, and warming energetics.
For bronchial problems it combines well with Coltsfoot and White Horehound.
For indigestion, flatulence and loss of appetite use with Chamomile. (Hoffman)
Precautions
Not for use in pregnancy, as it is a uterine stimulant, and in diabetes – due to sugar content. Because this is a ‘heating’ herb – it may be contraindicated in ‘hot’ conditions
We recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.
